Courageous

Apparently lots of people want to be a part of our family. J We were taking a picture at the movie theatre after watching the movie “Courageous” and all of a sudden several people from church jumped into the photo!

This past Sunday, our church went to see the new movie “Courageous” at the local movie theatre. Our family had been anticipating the release of this movie for some time. Mom and Dad saw it several months ago at a screening for pastors and lay leaders. So they kept assuring us of how good it was which made it harder for us kids to wait!

This is a movie that I firmly believe everybody must see, especially fathers and young men who will one day be fathers. I’m sure that many of you have seen “Fireproof” and “Facing the Giants” that were also produced by Sherwood Pictures. This movie tops both of them!

The basic premise of the film is the lack of leading fathers in today’s culture. The movie follows the lives of 4 police officers and their Hispanic friend, Javier. Tragedy strikes one of the officers and he has a revelation regarding his role as a father. This movie acts as a call to action for all fathers to step up and lead their families in the way God has called them to.

As a warning, there is some violence in the movie but nothing else objectionable such as language. But due to the violence and intensity of the film, Josiah didn’t attend the movie. The official rating is PG-13. But all of that aside, it is an incredible movie with an urgent message to fathers to lead their families and be men of faith. Please make sure that you see this movie!

  1. I am looking forward to seeing this movie! Sadly, it isn't being shown at our local theaters so we'll have to wait until it comes out on DVD. It sounds like a really great film!
