Mommy Dates

Over the years, a special tradition has developed in our family. When one of us kids finishes a Bible memory kit (usually around 40 to 50 verses in each kit), we get to go on a Mommy date!

Mommy and I preparing to leave on our first date together.

Mommy has been on many dates with multiple children. Although our incentive to learn the Bible memory kits was to hide God’s word in our hearts, knowing that we got to spend all day with Mommy helped push us along! J

On another date, Mom and I visited our friend’s farm. I had lots of fun with the kittens!

Even though we spend all day, every day with Mom, there is something extra special about one-on-one time with her. We REALLY look forward to our dates with her and plan out every detail very carefully (some more carefully than others. J)

Spending the day shopping and eating our way through Frankenmuth.
Rubia went with Mom to a zoo for her date last year.
Roma and Mom at a historic village for their date.

*Do you have any special memories of dates with your parents? Please share it in the comments! We’d love to hear your story, and maybe get ideas from you!*

  1. Once a month, Dad takes one of us kids shopping with him. Now that there aren't so many of us at home, we get to go several times a year!

    Also, we've done a lot of Daddy-Daughter-Doctor-Dates, but I wouldn't recommend those....unless absolutely necessary.

Mom and I record Bible verses together. But we don't do that all day.

  2. Your shopping dates with your Dad sound fun, Betsy! We go on dates with our Dad as well. That may be a blog post for the future!

I will take your advice about Daddy-Daughter-Doctor Dates. :-) Although it sounds like we will be going on a family outing to update our vaccinations in the next month or two. :-P That's a date I'd rather skip!

    Thanks for your comment!
