Sunday morning dawned bright and early for our family! We kids got up early to do our devotions and get all dressed up so that we could go on our annual egg hunt at 8 o’clock.
Waiting in the living room for the egg hunt to start. |
Daddy warned us that he and Mom had upped the ante in hiding the eggs this year. They made it HARD! It took us all about 20 minutes to find all of our eggs.
We had to have a picture of everyone all dressed up before breakfast. |
No, we didn’t eat the tulip. We just enjoyed its beauty on the table. J |
After breakfast we all left early for church. Easter at our church has a huge outreach focus. We attended one service and helped out during another. Our church was offering free family photographs, and I acted as an assistant photographer. It was a lot of fun!
The rest of the afternoon was spent at home relaxing. We take our Sabbath rest very seriously! J Later in the afternoon, we watched the first movie in the “Last Chance Detectives” series together. It was as good as I remember!
Around 4:30 p.m., I started setting the table for dinner. I love pulling out the nice china and crystal to eat on! |
As we were gathering to pray over our dinner, someone looked out the kitchen window and saw an ichthus symbol! What a special reminder that Jesus is alive! Photo Credit: Roma. |
Our Easter feast consisted of roasted leg-of-lamb with potatoes, Cuban bread with Mediterranean dipping oil, spring peas, and Jello eggs with homemade whipped cream. It was all delicious! Photo Credit: Roma. |
For dessert, we had grasshopper pie. It was quite refreshing! |
And that was our Easter in a nutshell! We are so thankful to be able to celebrate that we serve a living Savior! He loved us enough to sacrifice His life for us, so that we could have eternal life through Him!
Ahh...it bring back memories of my family doing egg hunt before church when we were little too. Fun times.
ReplyDeleteIs that chocolate fish? Cool! I never seen them before. We always get the chocolate bunnies.
All of you look beautiful/handsome in your Sunday outfits. I especially love yours Bianca because pink is my favourite colour & I love roses.
Wow! That pie looks amazing! Please share the recipe if you have time!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday.
May you all be blessed!

Thanks for your comment, Leah! I'm glad the post was able to bring back good memories for you!
ReplyDeleteYes you are right, those are chocolate fish. We each received a chocolate ichsthus with the word "Jesus" in the middle.
Aww, thank you! :-) I loved my pink dress so much, I wore it two Easters in a row!

Um, have you sent the recipe? We haven't received anything yet and I wanted to make sure we didn't miss it :).
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing this for us!
Love in Christ,
Hannah
Sorry for the confusion, Hannah! The email was sitting in the draft folder for my Mom to check, and so it didn't get sent until later.
