On Wednesday night, our youth group had a 70’s
Disco Skate Night. The first Wednesday of every month is “Big Wednesday” for
our youth group. We do something out of our ordinary routine. What we do varies
quite a bit. Sometimes it’s a service project and other times it’s something
fun. Last month we spent the evening making game stations for a Kids’ Carnival
our church is having later this summer. We painted big boards for a bean-bag
toss game, sewed and stuffed bean bags, and did other work projects.
Last week our youth pastor told us to dress up 70’s style
for a Disco Skate Night at the local roller-rink. We had a lot of fun researching
appropriate 70’s attire and going shopping at Goodwill for our outfits.
Unfortunately Rubia decided not to go at the
last minute, even though she had an outfit and everything planned out. She had gotten
sick that day and just didn’t feel up to a night of skating.

rest of us in our 70’s Disco-style outfits. How do you think we did?

We had a lot of fun skating! I love to skate
and can get going pretty fast.
We
played a few games including Limbo, races (boys’ race pictured above), and
train-skating. I actually won the girls’ race.

We had a great time together, and we enjoyed
the opportunity to dress up and get a lot of good exercise!
