Texas Picture: June

Boy oh boy, did we have a lot of rain yesterday morning! Lately it feels like we moved to Florida instead of Texas. Around 4:30 a.m. Thursday morning, we were ALL awakened by the storm going on outside. It began with incredible sheet lightning that lit up the sky every few seconds.

A few minutes later, the torrents let loose. The power blinked in and out several times, causing the computer and printer next door to my room to make all kinds of noises. I got up to turn them off and turn up the air conditioning, as it had become extremely humid and hot inside.

The next morning we saw the effects of the storm. There was a good deal of flooding after receiving so much rain at once! The picture above is our pond. It was dry when we moved here 7 months ago. Over the past few weeks, it has slowly filled up. But it at least doubled in size after the storm! Everything in Texas is BIG, including the storms!

Welcome to Florida, hee, hee, hee. We have had rain all week. The storm hit us as it swept through so we are very soggy right now.

I thought the storm was headed your way, Aunt Debbie. It's still soggy here as well, but it will probably dry up this week, as the temps are supposed to be in the 90's all week.

We've had a lot of rain recently too! :) Some-times our front yard could be a fish-pool! :)

Parts of our yard are like that too, Alexis! I think the rainy season is about over here. It's supposed to be dry and 95 degrees every day this week!
