This past weekend, we had our very first
visitors from Michigan! The M family are some of our very best friends and we
were absolutely thrilled that they came to see us, short as our visit was (only
24 hours!)
They
arrived around 8 o’clock on Saturday night after they flew in. We stayed up
really late enjoying taco soup, pumpkin bars, laughter, and lots of catching
up!
|
The next morning, we all went to second
service at church together. It was such a blessing to have our friends join us!
We enjoyed worshipping and taking communion together.
For
lunch, we introduced our friends to our favorite catfish restaurant!
|
I
tried something new this time. I had my catfish grilled with Cajun seasoning.
It turned out really good!
|
Our
friends had never stepped foot in Oklahoma before. We weren’t terribly far, so
we drove over there and took a picture so they can say “we’ve been there” now. J
|
Then
we decided to stop at the Texas Welcome Center. It’s really large and pretty!
|
No
visit with the M’s would be complete without ice cream. J
We stopped at Braum’s where everyone enjoyed a treat!
|
We
went home after that, and all the ladies went on a walk while the guys tinkered
in the garage and barn. It was a good way to work off some of our lunch and ice
cream. J
|
After
we returned, we visited for another few hours. We had fun playing piano tunes,
chatting, laughing (above J)
and just soaking in each other’s company!
|
We were so sorry that our time together had
flown by so fast, but it was so fun having the M’s visit! We hope they’ll come
back soon (and maybe some of our other Michigan friends too! Hint, hint! J)
