Break

Delicious Fettuccini Alfredo with basil and tomatoes, served with salad.

This school year, Mom has enjoyed a break from cooking several nights a week. The twins have really stepped up to help with cooking, and regularly cook dinner one night a week. Plus, they can often be found cooking up something healthy for their lunches. It’s always fun to see the meals they come up with! And always a pleasure to have someone else cook for you. J

we've been looking for a recipe for homemade Ranch dressing. Would one of the girls share your recipe with us?

Hi, Lydia,
Sorry for the delay--there are several recipes but the one that I like I got from the "Homestead Blessings" cookbook. Here it is: Half a cup of sour cream or yogurt; a fourth cup of sour milk, butter milk, or plain milk;(I used buttermilk) 1 tsp. garlic powder; 1 tsp. onion powder; 1 tsp. dill weed; 1 tsp. ground pepper; salt to taste. If you want a stronger ranch taste, double the spices.:)~Rubia

Thanks, Rubia! I look forward to trying it, and will let you know what I think! I think the dill is what will make it especially palatable.
