Haiti Missions Team Reunion

This past Sunday, the Haiti Missions team had a reunion! We wanted to have at least one more get-together before our family moves to Texas. Unfortunately, only about half the team was able to make it because it was last minute, but we still had a great time with each other!

I have to apologize because I was a bad photographer and only took two pictures during our whole afternoon. Sorry!

Digging into our lunch of mostaccioli, breadsticks, veggies with dip, broccoli salad, and mini pumpkin muffins.

We had a great time during lunch catching up with each other. Lots of laughs were included! J After we had finished eating, we gathered in the living room to try to Skype our team leader from World Hope, Mr. A. Unfortunately, we couldn’t connect with him. Instead, we updated each other on the projects that have been going on to help Haiti since we’ve returned home.

One of the ladies on the team, Miss D, has been working to help two little girls with medical issues. The 5-month old baby with hydrocephalus is recovering quite well from her surgery. Miss D is looking into getting a helmet for her, to prevent any injuries while the fluid drains off of her brain.

Mr. P has been collecting money from the children’s Sunday schools at church to buy food for the children on La Montagne. He is also working to collect items to send to Haiti (clothes, shoes, toys, hair items, etc.) He is investigating the best way to ship those there, because it can be quite expensive.

I updated everyone on the Hope Hill Orphanage Project. So far things are going quite well. Over $1,800 has been raised! I have a phone meeting with the President of World Hope this week (World Hope was the organization that led our trip to Haiti.) Hopefully some more good news will come of that conversation!

It is so exciting for me to see how God is using the members of our team to continue to minister to the people of Haiti! I look forward to seeing what God brings about in the next few months as these projects continue!
