Shoebox-Stuffing Party

Ever since my siblings and I were very little, we’ve been involved with Operation Christmas Child every year. This year was no different! We were invited to a friend’s house along with some other friends from church to have a Shoebox-Stuffing party together. It was a lot of fun as well as productive.

Before we began all that work, we had dinner. We ate Country Chicken Chowder, Stuffed Pepper soup, coleslaw, honeydew and strawberries, rolls, tea, and soda. For dessert there was caramel corn, caramel apple pie, pumpkin pie, brownies, Cranberry Orange cookies and apple bread. It certainly fueled us for the task ahead!

We enjoyed lots of good fellowship as well as many laughs over the meal.

After we had filled our stomachs, we filled shoeboxes! Here, everyone is gathered around the table working on 9 shoeboxes for the boys.

Roma helped cut out the labels for all 18 boxes.

And here are the finished boxes for the girls. The work went by really quickly with so many helping hands!

After we finished the boxes, we continued visiting. Josiah had lots of fun playing a hand game with our friend Mr. M. He was trying to teach Josiah the game where you attempt to slap your opponent’s hand, but Josiah wasn’t getting it. He would just start slapping even when he wasn’t supposed to! It was quite comical to watch!

The dog, Miss Oliver, was quite excited about the party! She had lots of fun visiting with guests.

Everyone sat around chatting late into the night.

A few of the adults.

We were so glad to be a part of the shoebox-stuffing party! It’s great to have good food, great fellowship, and work done all in the same evening. J We look forward to next year!
