Recipe--Hawaiian Sweet Roll Sammies

Remember those delicious baked ham and cheese sandwiches we ate over Christmas vacation that I told you about last month? Well, we finally got the recipe for these Hawaiian Sweet Roll Sammies, and they’re as good as ever! We had some friends over this week and made these for lunch, and boy were they tasty. Make sure to try them soon if you can!

Hawaiian Sweet Roll Sammies

(Original recipe from Beyer Beware)

1 package 12 Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
1 onion, minced or grated
1 stick butter
3 Tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
3 teaspoons poppy seeds
½ pound shaved ham
8 slices Swiss cheese

Melt butter in a small skillet and add onions. Stir in mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and poppy seed. Simmer for several minutes. Slice rolls as group lengthwise and place bottoms in 9 x 13 pan lined with aluminum foil. Spread ¾ onion mixture on roll bottoms, followed by ham and cheese slices. Top with roll tops. Spread remaining onion mixture over the top. Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate till ready to bake. Bake covered with foil for 20-30 minutes at 350°F or until cheese is melted. Slice down the roll lines and serve while warm. Makes 12 sandwiches. Enjoy!
