Dad
had also interviewed at several other companies, and we prayed that the Lord
would make it very clear where He wanted our family to go. He made it
abundantly clear that Texas is His direction for our family right now!
Our
transition is seemingly sudden to many of our friends because we will likely be
moving this month, or possibly next month, depending on when our house sells.
We really wanted to see a lot of our friends here in Michigan one last time,
but we knew that we couldn’t possibly host a party while simultaneously trying
to show our house as often as possible and otherwise prepare for this move.
We
were so excited when a friend of ours offered to host a party for us! We really enjoyed our time visiting friends
during the party.
The tables were decorated
with a fall theme and some of our favorite candies and nuts.

We had a delicious
spread of snack foods like cheese and crackers, cookies, bars, fruit, tea, and
apple cider.

The kids had lots of
fun playing outdoors since the weather was just perfect.

Even after we had to
clean up the party, we stood out in the parking lot talking with more friends!
What is my friend Amy taking a
picture of?

After the party we
stopped over at a friend’s house to see their new pet bunny.

But “visiting the
bunny” quickly turned into an hour-long visit with our dear friends. J

The girls had lots of
fun taking pictures together.

Before we left, we
just had to get some group pictures.

We
had a great time visiting with friends! We’re so thankful to have had the
opportunity to see them, as we will miss them dearly when we move.

Too bad I can't include pictures in the comments or I could show you what I was photographing. It was the beautiful trees beyond the parking lot.
Wow! What an exciting news that you are moving to Texas but sad to leave your friends. I hope your move goes well and can't wait to hear your adventures in Texas! Are you going to wear cowboots and ride horses in Texas? :)
That is too bad that you can't include pictures in the comments, Amy. But you could put them on your blog! The colors were definitely beautiful that day.

Our emotions are definitely mixed about this move, Leah. We're very excited, but sad at the same time. Moving across the country will definitely be an adventure! And yes, several of us have plans to invest in some cowboy boots and getting a horse is near the top of our list of "things to do in Texas!" :-)

Wow! That's a big change. I pray the Lord's protection and blessings will be with you all!
In Christ,
Hannah
If you need a place to stop in VA on the way down just let us know :)
It definitely will be a big change, Hannah! Thank you so much for your prayers; they are appreciated!
I wish VA was not so far out-of-the-way on our route to TX! We would love--and we hope--to meet your family someday soon!
~Bianca
WOW! I just read this post (10-6-12) and have been blown away! :) What a big move! I would say that our chances of meeting again soon are very slim if it weren't for the miracles that Jesus can preform. :) Have you started working on a Texas accent yet? :) I hope your house sells soon and that the moving process will be as smooth as possible! :) Be sure to post about your house hunting adventures! :)
Joyfully His,
Alexis
It is definitely a big move, Alexis! I hope that our chances of meeting haven't gotten that much slimmer! We may still have the chance to meet at a Vision Forum Conference in the future. We may come back east for the Father Daughter Retreat in the future, and we may come up to VA at that time to visit family.
Yes, we've started working on the accent a bit. :-) Although we'll probably never have a full blown accent since we weren't born and raised there.
We hope our house sells quickly too! We will definitely post about our house hunting/moving adventures!
~Bianca
I'm sitting here getting a good smile at the thought of seeing you all work on your accents! :) Not that that's bad at all- We have some good friends who live in NC and have the BIGGEST ACCENT EVER!! :) After we've spent a few days with them we all have pretty nice (deep country) accents (I keep mine the longest)! :)
I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for your family!
Have a BLESSED week! :)
Joyfully His,
Alexis
Ps- Make sure you email me if you're ever passing through! :)
I'm glad we could provide a bit of amusement for you, Alexis! :-) A good friend of ours who just moved to TX a few months ago said that the key word seems to be "ya'll." We'll see if they really use it as much as everyone says!
~Bianca
I guess y'all will have someone you know in TX then! That's a good thing! We use y'all pretty much all the time in our family! :) I don't really notice it until someone points it out with something like "You all must live up north." Or "Y'all? Where are you from?" This being, of course, said in a nice way. :)
This is totally off subject, but my parents are leaving for their cruise on Sunday! They are going to the Bahamas (stopping at Free-port and Nassau like y'all did)! Pray they have great weather and NO sea (motion) sickness! :)
God Bless!
Joyfully His,
Alexis
PS- I can't remember if you know this or not yet...but my mom is due with #10 on April 6th! :) We can 't wait for this new little blessing!
Yes, we are very grateful that we will know at least one family in Texas, even though they will live several hours away.
I hope that your parents will have a wonderful time on their cruise! I will pray especially that your Mom won't get seasick. She's brave to go on a cruise being several months pregnant already!
~Bianca
Thanks for the prayers!
Joyfully His,
Alexis
You're welcome, Alexis!
