Babysitting

A couple of weekends ago, the twins and I had the opportunity to babysit for a friend from church. They had some things come up at the last minute and needed a sitter for almost the whole day. We happily agreed!

We drove into town to pick them up from a soccer game around 11:00 a.m. There were a few tears from the youngest as she parted from her Daddy, but she quickly cheered up when we told her all the fun things we had planned for the day.

When we arrived home, we fixed them some lunch.

After they ate, they eagerly ran upstairs to play with the toys. (We babysit them on Monday nights during our parents’ Life Group, so they have been to our house several times before and know where all the "fun stuff" is. )

After a while, we took them on a walk in the wagon, as the weather was perfect. We brought a cup so they could pick wildflowers for their Mommy, carrots to feed the horses with, and B brought a crossbow to protect us from any snakes.

They were quite warm when we came home, so EJ and B helped me make
orange smoothies! It was a messy job with little hands, but worth it to see their smiles and sense of accomplishment.

B had SO MUCH fun playing cowboys with Josiah.
Towards the late afternoon, we watched a short movie together before they had dinner.

After they had eaten, they said their goodbyes and Rubia and I took them back home. I gave them each a bath while Ruby read the other one a bedtime story. They were both tucked in by 7:45 p.m. Ruby and I read a little bit until Mr. G got home around 9:00 p.m. We had so much fun, and the day really went by fast. We hope to babysit EJ and B again in the future, as they are two fun little kids!
