Guess what we found in our own backyard? Morel mushrooms! I personally don’t recall eating them before, but I’m told they’re the “Cadillac” of mushrooms. We look forward to foraging for more and enjoying the ones we’ve found. Does anyone have good recipes that use morels? We’d love to know!

Oh we are jealous! We've found a couple of morels in our woods, but can't seem to find anymore.
We wash them really good, chop them up and put them in omelettes or scrambled eggs.
Scrambled eggs tip I just learned - put a tablespoon of cut up butter into your scrambled eggs mix (or 2 if you are cooking eggs for a large family). The butter will melt as you cook the eggs and prevent long protein chains from happening. So your eggs will be smoother and silkier.
I figured with all of your woods, you probably had found mushrooms there before, Technoprairie. I'm sorry you haven't found any more. I think ours popped up due to all of the rain we've been having.
We ate our morels the exact way you recommended: in scrambled eggs. They were quite good!
We will have to keep that butter tip in mind when we're cooking scrambled eggs. I'd never heard of that before. Thanks!
