Mark—I would have to say my wife Betsy. She was the person who invited me to church as a young man. She is the reason I now follow the Lord. She has always been there to encourage me and love me. The Lord has given her great wisdom for raising children, and discernment on many life issues. I also admire two great men that have helped mold me into who I am today: Pastor Jay and Pastor Steve. Both of these men are humble and wise servants of the Lord. I also have great respect for the men of the reformation and many great missionaries, such as William Carey.
Betsy—I admire my husband very much. He has always been a steady rock of strength and comfort, in the best and worst of times. He is very patient; very self-controlled and even tempered; he has a great sense of humor; he is fun-loving; devoted to his family; and he has earned the love, respect, and full devotion of our children. Most importantly, he is a man who loves the Lord, and who lives a life of integrity. Next to him, I admire my Mom and Dad very much! They took me to church since before I was born J, and introduced me to Jesus early in life. Their devotion to God and family; their love of laughter; their great wisdom and intelligence; their willingness to stand firm in their convictions even when pressured to compromise; have all shaped who I am today, and given me a foundation of great security and stability.
Bianca—I think the people I admire the most, and who have made the biggest difference in my life and my way of thinking, are my parents. They have played a huge role in shaping who I am. I also admire my grandparents and other ancestors who have and had a strong relationship with the Lord. They have left a legacy that will never be forgotten. As far as non-family members, I really admire some of the Reformers, such as John Calvin, Martin Luther, William Tyndale, and John Wycliffe. These men were so courageous during a very hostile time in history. They were also deep thinkers who meditated on God’s word and left us their writings to study.
Ben—I admire my parents a lot. They’ve been a big inspiration to me. I also admire all of my siblings and family members. Some historical figures I admire include George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, Reverend Martin Luther King Jr., and Reverend Billy Graham. I admire these men because they stood up for what they believed in.
Rubia—I admire my parents very much. I also really admire Abigail Adams. I admire her because she supported her husband and was a very godly woman.
Roma—I admire my parents. I admire the fact that they have raised us in a godly way. I also admire people from the past such as Abigail Adams and George Washington. I admire them because Abigail Adams was a very godly woman and she was committed to her husband. George Washington was a godly leader. I admire my grandparents because they love me very much and they encourage me in different things.
Josiah—I admire my Daddy. I want to be an engineer like him. I also want to be patient and gentle like he is. I also admire my siblings because they are nice.
Who is someone you admire or who has shaped who you are today?
