Yet Another Surprise Guest. . .

I believe if I see another unclaimed animal headed towards our door, I will close and lock all doors and windows and pretend that they are not there. I’m just kidding, but it seems like there is a new creature around here every week. But this little fellow wasn’t exactly the norm of stray cats and dogs. . .

. . .a beautiful painted turtle showed up on our street! Aren’t his colors striking?
I was at Driver’s Ed when Mr. Turtle showed up, but at least I was able to see the pictures. Look at those huge claws!
The kids tried making a habitat for the turtle, but he really didn’t like it. They eventually let him loose near our wetlands/creek area. It was a short-lived visit, but quite out of the ordinary!

Our father as brought many animals home from work! He does lawn care and he has probably found 5 baby rabbits, 6 turtles, 1 groundhog, 1 chipmunk, (including a couple snappers!) and one time our whole family was comin' home from church and we found a baby deer and we brought it in the car and it was screamin' like crazy, then we lit it go!
One of the rabbits we wanted to keep jumped in the washer and we didn't know it, and needless to say... it didn't come out so well:(!
Dad also brought a couple field mice home which he saw during cutting grass.
We found a skunk which sprayed our dog. (Who killed it for some reason)
Dad found a opossum in the middle of the night and showed it to us all!
Found like 2 6' long black snakes and 3 3-4' long black snakes! We found a copperhead too.

That's about it for our familys critters!

Wow, it sounds like your Dad has brought back lots of animals, whichever-Wassenberg-is-commenting! :-) They all sound like neat animals, except the snakes. I've never been a fan of snakes. I think we've seen all the animals you mentioned on our property at one time or another. God sure has blessed us with a neat variety of animals, hasn't He?
