"Really?"

Those of you who receive our family newsletter or read our post, “A Year in Review” may remember the cat who “adopted” us last summer, Lovey. She just showed up on our back deck one day and stayed there for 3 weeks. We found out that she was very pregnant, and a very kind friend offered to take her into her home so that she would have a safe place for her kittens once they were born. This friend also found homes for all 5 kittens and Lovey through our local Humane Society.

Lovey with her 5 babies.
Apparently, the cat has been let out of the bag (pun intended) that our family has a soft spot for animals. Sometimes it feels as though we’re running an animal sanctuary around here. Look who showed up a few days ago. . .

. . .yet another unneutered, un-declawed cat! At least this time it’s a boy so there will not be any kittens involved (directly, that is.)
“Lewis” just walked up and made himself at home on our porch. At first he scared Mom because she thought our cat, Zack, had gotten out! (They look quite a bit alike.) He is pretty thin and seems to be pretty young, probably less than a year old. He is quite vocal, and seemed quite hungry.

He is definitely making full use of the porch furniture. He’s already being spoiled!
So now we have yet another cat to find a home for. We probably won’t bother with flyers as it certainly doesn’t appear that he belongs to anyone who is going to want him back. He has a very sweet temperament, and it shouldn’t be too hard to find him a good home. But for now, we’re stuck with him! J Anyone out there want a nice kitty?
